Meet Kwang S. Kim, M.D., Ph.D.
"Although I grew up in Iowa, my brothers and sister are now in California and my wife and I have wanted to move to Sacramento for some time. We felt with the kids at 7 and 9 years of age, it was now or never. When the decision to move to California came up, I wanted to find a practice that had patient care as the first and foremost goal. In addition, I wanted a practice with unparalleled laser vision correction experience, from which I could gain valuable insight. When I found both in one practice, Griffin & Reed Eye Care, the decision was easy."

Kwang Kim, M.D., joined Griffin & Reed Eye Care in June 2005. Dr. Kim attended the University of Iowa, where he obtained a BS in Biochemistry with a Math minor. He then obtained his M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa College of Medicine and Department of Biochemistry. An Ophthalmology transitional year was completed at St. John's Mercy in St. Louis. Dr. Kim obtained his Ophthalmology training at Washington University in St. Louis. After completion of his training, he served as Chief Resident and completed a Cornea and External Disease Fellowship at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.

Dr. Kim enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Linda, and two sons enjoy the outdoors. Karsten and Keegan have already picked up "Boogie Boarding" in the ocean. The family also enjoys biking on the American River Trail.
