Dr. Carmen Moreno is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in neurology, physiology and behavior. She continued her education at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry to pursue her Doctor of Optometry degree and graduated in May 2012.
Dr. Moreno received extensive training in contact lenses, ocular pathology, low vision and pediatrics while working at various clinics in South Florida as well as a VA clinic in South Carolina. Dr. Moreno is licensed to diagnose and treat ocular diseases, including glaucoma.
She understands the importance of healthy eyesight and enjoys improving people's vision. At a young age, Dr. Moreno was diagnosed with nearsightedness and wore vision correction for 28 years of her life. In 2014, Dr. Moreno had LASIK eye surgery to correct her nearsightedness. She says, “I wish I would have done it sooner!"
In her spare time, Dr. Moreno enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends and salsa dancing. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and currently resides in Sacramento.
