Dr. Jocelyn Kim-Dunlavey

Jocelyn Kim-Dunlavey M.D. grew up in Southern California. She attended UCLA where she obtained an undergraduate degree in Business Economics. The summer prior to her senior year, Dr. Dunlavey traveled to Honduras to aid coffee farmers and start a cooperative to help improve their lives. During this trip, she helped with medical brigades that were in Honduras, sparking her interest in medicine.

Upon graduating from UCLA, she then completed the Post-Baccalaureate premedical program at Columbia University. Dr. Dunlavey attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. There, she volunteered with Guerilla Eye Services and provided comprehensive eye care to patients with poor access to health care. Dr. Dunlavey fell in love with Ophthalmology because of the ability to diagnose, treat and improve quality of life. Dr. Dunlavey completed her Ophthalmology residency at Georgetown University. Her training exposed her to a variety of sites, including Walter Reed National Medical Center and Andrews Air Force Base. Dr. Dunlavey joined Griffin & Reed Eye Care because of her desire to deliver the best care to patients. She also speaks medical Spanish and in her spare time enjoys exploring Northern California with her husband.
