Robert Griffin has actively practiced Ophthalmology in Sacramento, California since 1974. He attended Stanford University and Stanford University School of Medicine, receiving his M.D. in 1966. He served a medical internship at Stanford University Affiliated Hospitals and a four-year residency in Ophthalmology at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, University of California - Los Angeles, completing his formal training in Ophthalmology in 1974.
Dr. Griffin is a past-president of the Alta California Ophthalmological Society and served for 15 years on the clinical facility of the University of California, Davis, Department of Ophthalmology. He has published a number of articles in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Together with the other surgeons at Griffin & Reed Eye Care, Dr. Griffin has been involved in the treatment and care of many thousands of laser corrected eyes, one of the largest groups of post-operative laser vision correction patients managed by a single practice in the United States.
